American Buffalo is a 1976 play by the American playwright David
Mamet. The play concerns a group of thieves who are plotting to steal
a coin collection. It is a study of loyalty and betrayal; the story of 3
psychologically fragile, down and out individuals who scheme to get
rich quick. The play won the New York Drama Critics Circle Award
for best play of the 1977 season.
