"The Secret Garden" has the happy ending expected of a musical. There ends most of the
similarities between it and the general lot of bubble-gum/pop family shows.  "Secret Garden" is a
heartwarming, character-driven play touched by melancholy at its most beautiful, with
redemption and love at its core.

Show Dates: January 26, 27, 28 and February 2, 3, 4.

Synopsis
The Secret Garden is about a young girl, Mary Lennox, who, upon the deaths of her parents, is
sent away from her home in India to live with her distant, often absent uncle Andrew Craven in his
Yorkshire, England manor. Shortly after arriving, the spoiled, sullen girl discovers an old,
abandoned garden and gradually she morphs into a spirited, healthy and kind child. With the help
of a local boy whose sister works in the manor, she is able to transform the secret garden to a
place filled with beauty and life. Along the way she uncovers many other secrets as well, and the
roses in the garden are not the only inhabitants of the Yorkshire property to grow and improve as
a result.
